BACKGROUND

Prof. Kusum Deep, Department of Mathematics, Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee is pleased to announce an annual award called “KUSUM DEEP BEST PhD THESIS AWARD” on the occasion of her lifetime contributions towards research.  The Award consists of a plaque, a certificate, and cash prize. The award will be announced during the International Conference on Soft Computing for Problem Solving (SocProS), which is an annual event since 2011.
OBJECTIVE

This Award is initiated in 2023 to encourage and motivate researchers to pursue a career in Soft Computing / Optimization / Operations Research / Artificial Intelligence / Data Science and other allied areas. 

This year’s award will be announced during 12th International Conference on Soft Computing for Problem Solving (SocProS 2023) to be held at IIT Roorkee during August 11-13, 2023.

ELIGIBILITY FOR KUSUM DEEP BEST PhD THESIS AWARD 2023

PhD Degree must have been awarded during: January 1st, 2022 till date

The applicant must be a full-time registered candidate in any University in India or abroad.

REGISTRATION FEE

INR 2,000/- Degree recipients from Indian Universities/Institutes

USD 30/- Degree recipients from Foreign Universities/Institutes

HOW TO APPLY

  1. Proof of award of PhD Degree
  2. Proof of Registration and payment of fees
  3. Complete Thesis (in pdf)
  4. List of publications, patent related to Thesis
  5. NOC from the Supervisor

LAST DATE

The last date for submitting the documents for this year’s award is June 30th, 2023.

  • There will be a best paper award for every parallel session
  • “Best Application Paper Award” in line with the Theme of the Conference, i.e. “Moving Towards Society 5.0”.
  • “Best Student Paper Award” for papers in which first author is a research scholar / UG / PG student from any University within India or abroad.

  • “The awarded papers will be get a Springer voucher worth 200 Euro (award letter) for purchasing e-books from Springer's website."
